@TakeV Enterprise, Alabama in the USA got hit with Boll Weevils in the mid to late 1910s, which ate all their cotton, but instead of trying cotton again, they decided to plant peanuts and found greater success in further diversifying their crops. so they built a statue of a weevil held up by a human to thank the bug for this change.
