I find it amusing that two of my friends are starting to make YouTube videos around the same time
Frankly a bit jealous they can just... make videos about what's interesting to them. I wanted to for a while, but I feel like people have high/specific expectations for what I would make.
Like, the kind of content I would do:
- Running wired VR on an Intel Arc GPU
- Adding support for random small stuff like IMUs in WMRv1 controllers in Linux
- Installing Gentoo on a phone
- Porting Linux to a phone what was slammed with cellebrite, with SoC that nobody mainlined yet
- Porting Rockbox to Creative Zen
...and I don't think it would be very interesting. Half of the people wouldn't have necessary knowledge to understand what's being done, and the other would just be bored/find issues with what I've done. I guess I'm just a boring person
@ellyqw you got me on most of these things, the only thing I don't know is what Rockbox and Creative Zen is, but the rest sounds very fun to watch x3
I am kinda curious what do you mean by slammed with cellebrite, the only thing I know under that name is the company that sells exploit tools to cops (cuz I was trying to recreate one of their exploit chains we have public logs for on standalone MR headsets, but they aren't vulnerable and I suck at writing exploits)
Figuring out what's up with others saying that wired headsets don't work on Intel Arc was on my TODO list for when I get access to a wired headset, never got around to it tho.
@ity Rockbox is an aftermarket firmware for MP3 players (like iPods etc). Friend gave me a Creative Zen 4GB, but it supports microSD. It would be comfy to have a dedicated music player :D
Yes, *that* cellebrite. See my main profile, my friend's phone was exploited by cops with zero-day in USB HID driver.
Wired headsets on Arc *do* work, but only if they're using DisplayPort. HDMI-based ones seem to work, but displays never initialize.
