I should get into Onmyō-za again 
I never really sat down to try to translate/understand their later material, they have that tendency that metal bands have to soften over time. but it's not like I'm spoiled for choice for bands that play traditional heavy metal, with female vocals, with lyrics in Classical Japanese (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-JTyjbo9Qc )

<ul><li>Onmyō-za (heavy metal, Classical Japanese lyrics, occult-related themes)</li><li>Aunt Sally (70s punk; found about them recently, fell in love)</li><li>AFRIRAMPO (*taps CD* these 2 girls can fit SO much noise inside them)</li><li>Jagatara (extremely addictive funk, gods took him early because he was too funky for this world)</li><li>Inugami Circus-dan (horror-themed political rock, leans towards sarcasm/pastiche and musical lore, frontwoman is awesome)</li><li>Ningen Isu (hard rock often about literature, mixes in musical concepts from hōgaku)</li><li>Mizukagami (minor prog-rock act that posted some long-ass tracks on youtube once and I've been listening to them ever since)</li><li>obviously, Babymetal</li></ul>
