Let's settle this once and for all! π»
Linux vs. BSD! π
Which side are you on? π§π‘
#Linux #Debian #Arch #ArchLinux #Fedora #FedoraLinux #BSD #OpenBSD #FreeBSD #NetBSD
@midtsveen Also FreeBSD - and hopefully a little more experience with NetBSD after @ltning refurbished our old Sun Ultra 10 workstation
@midtsveen Linux for now, but I'm ready to switch in case of sloppification. Β OpenBSD, NetBSD or Illumos
@midtsveen I'm on Team Free Operating Systems.
Butif you have to pigeonhole me, I'm Team Linux right now, though BSD is looking very tempting, and I'm also considering Team Redox
@Infrapink @midtsveen yeah. I don't have time to faff around with my laptop, so Linux, feel at home (well... until the whole lets-drag-everything-into-a-monolith thing, but that's not the point). Complacency.
I voted #Linux as I am a #Debian user, but I would not see this as choosing a side as I don't care what OS people use to get their things done.
@martin @midtsveen The host of Learn Linux TV on YouTube once said he wanted people to go to a computer store, see Windows machines, Linux machines, and Macs, and for the choice to be *hard*. I liked that.
@midtsveen I am currently using Linux, but I need to look into Anti-AI FOSS OSs. I keep hearing about BSD and I know there are some other dedicated Anti-AI OS's on Mastodon like Chimera or aerynOS.
@midtsveen
Right now I'm running debian, but I'm looking at swapping to netBSD because of *gestures broadly* yknow.
I don't do sides. Or let's say, I'm on both sides as long as they promote the #opensource culture.
@midtsveen @catsalad Linux for now, thinking about NetBSD when the slop gets worse.
@midtsveen ngl, run debian just because it has the hardware, wayland, and gnome support.... if any bsd could handle that then i'd swap my daily driver and never look back.
@midtsveen I am holding out for the chosen one to bridge the gap between our worlds, HyperbolaBSD
