i can't use the copy machines at uni because i can't top up my credit because the digital backend fails because my name, which it pulls from the uni database, is too long
i'm a living nightmare for sysadmins. all the systems i've crashed just by being an edge case
they deleted my names down to 12 characters 
like ok, when i registered here i told them to just use my first name. they insisted that no, they had to use my full legal name. and then everything crashed. and they had to fix every single system to somehow work with my name
and now, a year later, they just give up?! come on. i liked being a digital nuisance.
@mokosh there was a Hawaiian fellow whose driver's license had to be issued as two separate cards, because they couldn't figure out how to fit his name on one.
@iris oh germany has that one figured out! they reduce the font size till it fits

but yeah i will be such a bitch about it
because you know what? whenever a trans person asks, the it departments says that changing the name in the system is absolutely impossible because it will break everything
they just changed my name. nothing broke. and they did it for convenience. because it was easy
and i have documentation of everything~
