@NullTheFool Oh, we're circling back around to it already?
Are we doing it with or without the vaseline this time?

Emergency #MutualAidRequest Hubby was paying bills, didn't know that one bill wouldn't count a manual payment, so it still autodrafted, & he can't get it back. Now he's short 300$ for rent due in 7 days.
This is on top of the 325 we're still short for our bloated utilities. We're really struggling
170/300 rent

Hello. My name is Elaine; I’m a transgender girl from Ukraine who has been living in Slovakia with my parents for two months now. My parents are strongly opposed to my gender identity and are using every possible method to try to change it, including physical and psychological abuse. This month, I plan to move to Germany on 26 of October.
You might ask, what’s the problem with “holding out” a little longer to become financially independent? The thing is, in early November, my parents are set to apply for “Temporary Protection” for me in Slovakia, which will effectively tie me down here and take away my chance to move to another country.
If you can provide financial support or know someone in Germany who can help, I would be very grateful, because I’m in a crisis situation and time is very limited for me.

random thought:
<ul><li>you should have forums for your hobby / subculture / open source thing / etc., that are not discord, and that are openly accessible in HTML online. you should try to make those appear on google and be like the place to discuss the thing, if that's at all doable.
</li><li>many online subcultures used to have a politeness norm of "don't ask questions without first googling it". this rule is obsolete. googling it doesn't work anymore. stackexchange is dead. it is very difficult already to find reliable information. you need to make it as easy and inviting as possible for curious people and newcomers to get used to asking human beings about the thing. this means tolerating common questions rather than replying to them like "read the FAQ/TFM/search the forum" etc.
</li><li>in fact, actively establish spaces specifically meant for people who are too intimidated to ask questions. in a reddit-type forum, do "weekly quick q&a thread—all questions welcome" kinda thing (it's less intimidating to post a brief comment than making a question post). do "weekly casual chat thread" and "beginner's corner" and "off-topic fridays" and stuff like that, too.
</li><li>and on the converse, actively discourage people from posting chatbot answers, through both forum rules and fostering forum culture. don't be aggressive about it but also don't be lenient.
</li></ul>

an interesting read: https://eliastaylor.com/noexploit/ ("There isn't an easy exploit for this PHP vulnerability")
"If you take a look at github right now, there are thousands, literally thousands, of "PoC" exploits for this vulnerability. One thing you'll notice about all of them though, is that they do not work against a vanilla PHP instance."

@gamemakingtools Yay for pushing past inertia! I guess it isn't all bad

In good #nzpol news, the High Court has decided that the government were, in fact, being bigots.
