@prahou what angle off centre counts as facing to the side? 45 degrees seems obvious, but I think in practice people would interpret something around maybe 30 degrees to be facing sideways, and start saying "away" pretty much at 91 degrees. For your poll, I'm guessing "30-100 degrees as measured from face-on to camera." I'll see if I can measure that.

Of course, I don't know what I'd do if I had a badly broken nose, so measuring orthogonally from the line connecting the centres of my eyeballs might still be in the "forward" range, but the line from the centre of my upper lip to the tip of my nose could be turned far enough that the "snout direction" would be different.

(I'm assuming a platonically ideal upper lip position, I hope that's okay.)
